The Harlequin Quail (Coturnix delegorguei) is a ground-dwelling galliform of the tribe Coturnicini in the pheasant family. Total length is 16–19 cm. Males weigh about 49–81 g and females 63–94 g. Males show a striking black-and-white head and throat pattern with a white throat marked by a black anchor-like motif, while females are inconspicuously brown for camouflage.
